Built on the ruins of an old Annan city, Midwinter is a prosperous city on the delta of the river Tooze. The city was founded in 58TA when the mercenary general Merek Norn defeated the goblin chieftain Menag Bargon. Bargon had taken the city has his base of operation when the Horde invaded in 23TA. The city and satellite towns are ruled by a hereditary Council of Lords and a Council of Merchants. In recent years, exclusive trade deals with the Stonelands and Tanglewood communities have increased it's wealth and importance. Midwinter's flag is a red dragon rampant on a green field. See the 'Midwinter' section for a more detailed description of the city.
The name Midwinter is said to come from the ancient hero Mirad Wyrmtooth. In the original Annan, his name was Mirad Wythtor.
